About Me
My practise extends across theatre that is thought-provoking, challenging and confronting for audiences. I believe that theatre is inherently a political act and has the ability to change perceptions, shift mindsets and spark conversation and debate.
My practise is often based in postdramatic styles and genres of text-based theatre, with strong visual and scenographic elements. The visual landscape of the stage is an important element in my work, enhancing and communicating the ideas of the text.
I also frequent site-based work outside of traditional audience settings, that uses the space as a central element to the experience and how audience receive meaning. This has included churches and museum exhibition halls.
As a dramaturg, I work with playwrights and theatre-makers in the development of new plays and performance works.
I am an emerging theatre-maker with over 5 years experience independently producing my own work in Brisbane. I am frequently drawn to Absurdist texts and performance works.
